A loan of $1,000 helps to buy fertilizer in order to prepare 2 hectares of land to plant cassava.

Segundo Enrique's story

Segundo is a 40-year-old farmer, father of a 12-year-old child. He works growing and selling beans, corn and cassava; for 10 years this trade has been his source of income. Segundo started in this business because of his ancestor’s example. He is very proud that his mother advises him in planting, growing and harvesting.

With the purpose of gradually diversifying and expanding the business, Segundo is asking KIVA-MiCrédito for a loan to buy fertilizer in order to prepare 2 hectares of the land where he will plant cassava. In the short term, Segundo plans to buy more land suitable for rice cultivation.
