A loan helped a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Elizabeth's Group's story

Elizabeth, pictured above, has been a farmer for 5 years, and is now proud to represent her group of 11 farmers in the Alego District. She is 56 years old, married and has 2 children.

Elizabeth likes to think of herself as a very friendly person. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2016 and decided to represent her group, because she wanted to help more farmers. She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has been able to consistently feed her family. Elizabeth plans to use the profits from this coming season to save more money for the future.

In total, Elizabeth’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate 5.5 acres of land. Some members of the group will also be purchasing a solar light with this loan, for a total of 3 solar lights.

In this group: Elizabeth, Everline, Eunice, Josifina, Josephine, Margaret, Rose, Anastacia, Pamela, Anjelina, Elizabeth
