A loan helped to pay school fees for his children.

Deo's story

Deo, 42 years old, is a divorced man with four children who are all studying. He is a civil servant employed as a parish chief in Kamwenge, Uganda. He earns a monthly salary on the government payroll but the money is not enough to meet his needs as a single parent. He decided to supplement his small salary with a retail shop, now operating for 18 years, where he sells general merchandise with the help of a shop attendant.

His effort is geared at educating the children at least to the desired level but the challenge is that financing to maintain them in school is very scarce. Hence he is requesting a loan to pay school fees for his children.

This loan is special because:

It targets extremely rural populations.
