A loan of $700 helped to buy a dairy cow.

Maribel's story

Maribel M. C., 25, lives in the southern part of Cochabamba in an area known as Maica Kenamari with her husband and two children. Maribel is a raw milk producer that she uses to make yoghurt for sale at various Cochabamba markets. Maribel has been a dairy farmer for over 6 years; her husband works as a machine maintenance man at an industrial workshop in Cochabamba, a job he’s had for 3 years. According to his supervisors, he is a hard-working, punctual, excellent employee. Maribel is asking for funds to buy more dairy cows in order to increase earnings and herd size. Her greatest dream is to increase milk production and her income so that, together with her husband, they can buy a house where they can live with their children by themselves; they currently share his wife’s mother’s house.
