A loan of $4,325 helped a member to buy more stock for her business.

Ishongororo Twekundire Group's story

Hard working R. Aidah, aged 48 years, started her retail shop business ten years ago. Being strategically located in Kakinga trading centre, Ishongororo, she gets many customers, earning her a profit of 60,000 Ugandan shillings monthly. Aidah’s main drawback is having a small amount of stock that cannot match the demand from her customers.

With this loan Aidah hopes to buy more stock for her business. This will help her expand her market and also earn more sales revenue to cater for the requirements of her three children, who are still undergoing school, and also be able to progress economically.

Aidah belongs to a group of twelve members who are on their 9th loan. They hold each other accountable and insure each other in paying back the loan.

In this group: Jane, Aggrey, Enid, Hakim, Wilson, Banard, Rashid*, Aidah, Deus, Sawuya, Jackline, Jesca*
