A loan of $375 helped to purchase clothing and merchandise to expand his traveling sales business.

Elmo's story

Elmo is a 49-year-old father who lives with his wife and two young daughters in the city of Chepén, which belongs to the province of the same name in the region of Libertad. It is one hour from the city of Chiclayo, which is the capital of the Lambayeque region. He started his business in which he sells clothing and various merchandise more than 7 years ago. He sells these items as a traveling salesman in the nearby areas like San Miguel, Agua Blanca, and Chilete (towns that belong to the region of Cajamarca). His business has given him economic income that he has used to take care of his family during these years. Since it is his only source of income, he strives every day to progress his business. His wife also helps him sell the products that he offers.

Elmo has worked with his own capital during all of these years. Now he hopes to obtain additional capital to expand his business and to improve his family's quality of life. This is why he is requesting his first credit of 1000 PEN from Edpyme Alternatitva, which he plans to use to buy more merchandise. Elmo is a hard-working father who always watches over his family's well-being and development. His biggest dream is to remodel his home since it is constructed of rustic materials and has a thatched roof, which generates humidity and affects the health of his young daughters.
