Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $650 helped to buy chicks, feed and medicine for broilers.

Janeffer's story

Janeffer is a 35-year-old married lady with two children in school. Her husband is a salesperson while she raises poultry to earn a living. She has been a member of Faulu Kenya with the group "Amahesa Women". Her business has expanded since she joined Faulu Kenya and her standard of living has improved. This is because she previously took out a loan of 20,000 Kenyan shillings from the organization with the group members as guarantors. She has requested a loan of 50,000 Kenyan shillings to buy chicks, chicken feed and medicine for her broilers. She hopes to expand her business in the future.
