A loan of $6,000 helps a member to stock up on men and women's clothes in bulk, which will strengthen her initial capital.

Wakati Ni Mali Group's story

Madame Jeanne is a client of the Hekima microfinance institution and vice president of the Wakati Ni Mali group. She is a widow, 51 years old, and the mother of two children who are in school.

She sells clothes in her shop and she started her business in 1993 with startup funding received form her field. Later, she joined the Hekima program to support her business, which she had been steadily growing. With this new loan, she will stock up on men and women's clothes in bulk, which will strengthen her initial capital. The challenges in her business are tied to a lack of customers.

She would like for her children to go to school and to be able to do some construction. Lastly, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they provide to owners of businesses that are unable to use traditional banks.
