A loan helped to purchase the ACE 1 energy system in order to have access to solar power for lighting, charging and cooking in a way that is safer, cleaner and saves money.

Catherine's story

Catherine is a 34-year-old woman who lives in a bricked house with five other family members including three children. Catherine is a hairdresser but struggles with the cost of cooking fuels. She spends the most amount of her energy expenses on charcoal, which costs up to UGX 45,000 per month. She also spends as much as one hour per day, gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs like phone charging.

Catherine bought the ACE 1 cookstove to help her and her family save the money spent every month on fuel and also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free. The ACE 1 clean cookstove is biomass and solar-powered.
