Flora's story

Flora is one of this institution's most long-standing members; she has been working with this institution since the year 2003. She is a woman who has a good attitude, and is responsible and hardworking. She has a business selling polleras (traditional skirts) and shawls in the style of "Señora de Pollera" (The traditional "Señora de Pollera" outfit in the city of La Paz is very particular: they wear a thick skirt and then inside a petticoat called an "enagua", and on the top they wear a shawl made of silk fabric.) She sells these items in different markets in the city of El Alto, including the markets of Batallas and Achachi. These markets are on the outskirts of the city of La Paz. She makes a great effort to take her merchandise to the different parts of the city of La Paz. She has 2 children who are school-aged, and her husband is a driver who works every day to support the household. This loan will be invested in the purchase of merchandise. She is very grateful to Emprender and Kiva for the trust provided in the granting of this loan.
