A loan of $525 helped for vehicle maintenance and repair and to pay for license renewal.

Gerardo Manuel's story

Gerardo, 20, is single and lives with his family in Urrunaga sector, José Leonardo Ortiz district, an area that is well-known as a commercial and transportation hub; it is five minutes from downtown Chiclayo.

He provides public passenger and cargo transportation services in a mototaxi (three-wheel vehicle used to transport passengers and cargo); he has been in this line of work for over 4 years now. He started out with leased vehicles but gradually saved up enough to buy his own work unit. He currently covers urban routes within the city. His earnings help him meet personal expenses and he is able to contribute to his family’s support.

Gerardo is asking Edpyme Alternativa for a 1500 new sol loan that he’ll use for vehicle maintenance and repair. The continuous use of the vehicle has caused it to begin to require repairs. Part of the funds will be used to renew his license to operate which will make it possible for him to work legally, without fear of control operatives, and with the security he needs to do his work properly.

Gerardo is a young, responsible worker; his greatest wish is to continue to grow as a businessman and to have additional vehicles.

He has collaborated with our institution in the past and has been punctual and responsible with his loan installment payments.
