Emmanuel's story

Emmanuel, popularly called Emma, is truly a hard worker. He is 33 years old and sells building materials like plywood, nails, carpentry tools, paint etc. to customers in his neighborhood in Kumasi. Emma has been operating his trade for ten years and is eager to be taking out this loan. He plans to use this loan to add the sale of cement to expand his product line. It is the dream of almost every Ghanaian to own his own house which makes selling building materials profitable, Emma said.

Emmanuel is married to a woman who is also a trader. They have three children from age 1 – 7 years. He says that his wife dreams of being able to generate enough profits that they will be able to educate their children to at least the tertiary school level.
