A loan helped to purchase the ACE 1 energy system in order to have access to solar power for lighting, charging and cooking in a way that is safer, cleaner, and saves money.

Santo's story

Santo is a 37-year-old man who lives in a bricked house with five other family members including three children.

He works as a doctor but struggles with cost of cooking fuels. He spends the greatest amount of his energy expenses on charcoal, which costs up to UGX 49,000 per month. He also spends as much as one hour per day, gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs like phone charging.

Santo bought the ACE 1 cook-stove to help him and his family save the money spent every month on fuel and also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free.

The ACE 1 clean cook-stove is biomass and solar-powered. For more information on the ACE 1 cook-stove please visit www.africancleanenergy.com and Facebook @African Clean Energy.
