A loan of $875 helped working capital to buy plastic goods.

Elena's story

Mrs. Elena is 35 years old and lives in the Tacagua zone in the city of La Paz. She rents a room in her Godparents house. She has 2 children who are in school. Her partner is Mr. Roberto who works as an employee and with the contribution of their two incomes they are able to raise their 2 children.

Mrs. Elena has a booth on Tumusla Avenue which is well known in the city of La Paz as it is full of small businesses and ambulatory businesses. Her booth sells a variety of articles, especially those made from plastic. She works from very early in the morning until the end of the day. Mrs. Elena’s dream is to eventually own her own store where she can sell her products and in this way improve her economic situation and her quality of life.

The loan will be used to buy plastic items, disposable diapers, packing tape and other products that she sells from her booth.

Mrs. Elena is very grateful to Emprender and Kiva for the trust placed in awarding her the loan.
