A loan helped a member to purchase supplies to increase her production of chorizo.

Ardillitas Alalay Group's story

Bertha, the mother of 5 children who are young adults and the fourth in the photo, from left to right, works making artisan chorizo, which she has made and sold for 2 years. She does this work every night since, to pay the family's expenses, she also has a job at a restaurant, which allows her to cover the family expenses. She delivers the chorizo to her customers from 6:00 in the morning and she wants to invest the money from the loan in supplies to increase her production due to the demand increasing because of the quality of her products.

She dreams of being able to live on her independent business and spend more time with her family. She wants to grow her business and involve her children in it, so that together they can get ahead. Like the other members of the group, whom she knows through friendship and being neighbors in the same area, she has the intention of growing her business and of achieving a better quality of life for her family.
