A loan of $1,000 helped vehicle maintenance.

Francisco's story

Sr. Francisco is married and has three children. He has been a taxi driver for 30 years and currently works as part of a fleet of vehicles that provides taxi services between Santa Cruz and Paurito. Francisco also works for the Mennonite colonies by delivering medicines, of which he earns a percentage. During the planting season, he helps his brother-in-law grow watermelons and cassava to earn additional income to maintain his household. His wife is in charge of feeding and acquiring an education for their three children. One child helps out by working half-days at the Ramada Market selling CDs.

The funds he requested will be used to buy spare parts for his vehicle and pay for maintenance since it is currently experiencing a few problems. Sr. Francisco is a hardworking gentleman who strives day after day to provide his family everything they need and improve their quality of life. One of his wishes is to buy a house in which his entire family can live because he loses a considerable amount of money paying rent as the months pass by quickly. He is extremely grateful to Emprender and Kiva for demonstrating their confidence in him by providing this loan.
