Alice's Group's story

Pictured above is Alice, often described as an extremely hardworking individual. She is 54 years old and has 6 children. As a group leader, she is representing her group of 8 farmers in Mumias District, Kenya.

Alice is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund as this means that she is able to have access to the best seed prices, which is why she decided to join in the first place. Alice says that she is happy to have made that decision because, since she first joined in 2018, she has been able to consistently feed her family and this has improved her day-to-day life significantly. Alice will use the profits from this season to save more money for the future.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 4.5 acres. Members of the group will also be purchasing a total of 2 solar lights.

In this group: Alice, Margret, Anjeline, Beatrice, Cyrilla, Elvis, Jacob, Everlyne

This loan is special because:

It supports smallholder farmers to purchase seeds and solar lanterns.
