A loan helped a member to purchase the ACE 1 energy system in order to have access to solar power for lighting, charging and cooking in a way that is safer, cleaner and saves money.

Bugema University (2) Group's story

Annet is a 36-year-old woman who lives in a brick house with three other family members, including one child.

Annet is a lecturer, but struggles with buying cooking fuels. She spends the most amount of her energy expenses on charcoal and wood, which costs up to 70,000 per month. She also spends as much as one hour per day gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs, like phone charging.

Annet and the other members of the group in this village each bought the ACE 1 cook-stove to help them save the money they spend every month on fuel, and also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free.

The ACE 1 clean cook-stove is biomass and solar powered. For more information on the ACE 1 cook-stove please visit www.africancleanenergy.com and Facebook @African Clean Energy.
