01_Xelwino Group's story

This mixed group was created in January 1982 and is made up of one man and ten women. They live in the same village and are linked by friendship and solidarity.

Their principal business activity is raising animals. This group is in its first financing with the [microfinance] institution.

Madame Anne Marie, age 54, is the representative, at the right of the photo with her hand raised. She is a married woman of six children, of which two are boys; all are in school.

Anne Marie is involved in feeder pigs; she buys her pigs in the villages and raises them at home. She leverages a good deal of experience: more than 15 years in this sector.

She is going to buy 15 pigs and eight bags of feed and raise them to be resold with a good profit margin. There are a number of people raising pigs, but she does wel.

Her profits will serve to be saved, to manage the family's expenses and the children's schooling.

In this group: Anne Marie, Clarisse Ndew, Rose Marème, Alice, Anzelle Ndella, Jacqueline Guignane, Anta, Thérèse, Marcelina, Yvan Emmanuel Latyr, Juliette Ndéo
