Maira Alexandra's story

Maira is 18 years old, just finished her studies and lives with her parents and 2 younger siblings. The house where they live is borrowed and located in the community of Canchaguano. Her family’s financial resources are scarce, and for that reason Maira has become a day laborer and started raising calves in order to generate incomes on her own.

She’s requesting a Kiva loan to buy calves, salt, vitamins and milk powder to feed them and take care of them until she can sell them for a better price. In this way, she hopes to make some savings in order to study to become a teacher. She also has the goal of having an a farm and in this way get ahead in life.
