A loan helped a member to buy merchandise to sell, such as dresses, skirts, blouses, conditioner, shampoo, tennis shoes, sandals, perfume, etc.

La Excelencia En Cristo : Grupo 1 Group's story

Raquel is known in her community for being helpful and cooperative. She lives in a "batey" [village] in the province of La Romana in the Dominican Republic. Despite being a very touristic province, with pretty beaches and resorts, La Romana also has very poor communities such as the bateyes, where people, mostly Haitian immigrants, live in extreme poverty.

Raquel is the mother of six children, who are her motivation to seek daily sustenance.

Raquel began selling clothing such as pants, blouses, skirts, dresses, pajamas, etc., but later decided to add more products, such as creams, shampoo, conditioner, tennis shoes, sandals, caps, perfumes, etc. With this business, Raqauel generates income and can help her family.

Raquel dreams of one day having a prosperous business and seeing her family outside the cycle of poverty in which they live. Raquel says that she has loyal clients to whom she offers different types of discounts and terms.

Raquel needs your help to buy new merchandise and stock her business.
