A loan helped to purchase farming inputs such as certified seed and nutrient-rich fertilizer to boost the quality of her produce and elevate her standard of living in 2020.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth is a 43-year-old mother of six children who has successfully repaid her previous Kiva loans. She is an inspiring farmer who lives in Kapsowar in the Rift Valley region of Kenya. She is a very hard-working farmer engaged in mixed farming, dairy, and poultry-keeping. Elizabeth and her husband use the profits they obtain from locally selling milk and eggs to pay their children's school fees.

The quality of Elizabeth’s crops has dwindled due to poor farm inputs. This issue has brought about low demand for her crops and has negatively impacted her sales. Elizabeth is seeking a helping hand to purchase farming inputs such as certified seed and nutrient-rich fertilizer to boost the quality of her produce. With the inputs, Elizabeth is assured of a bumper harvest that will open new markets for her crops and increase her profits. Increased profits will, in turn, elevate her family's standard of living this year, 2020.
