A loan of $725 helped purchase of furnishings and materials for installing a restaurant for tourists.

Adela's story

Adela, age 40, is divorced and has an 11 year old daughter. She lives in the Zaña district, which is well known in the region for its traditional Afro-Peruvian dances. She is located 45 minutes from the city of Chiclayo.

For more than nine years, Adela has been engaged in the sale of groceries and basic necessities in a shop she has set up in a space in her house. Every day she offers products to her customers, who prefer to shop with her thanks to the quality of her products and the good service she gives them. Since this business is the only source of income which she has to meet her personal expenses and support her small daughter she tries to give everything she can to keeping it up.

Adela wants to expand into food preparation and sales. The area where she lives gets a lot of tourists since it has colonial ruins and a Afro-Peruvian museum. She wants to install a small restaurant in order to serve the Peruvian and foreign tourists that visit the place.

This is why she is applying, for the first time, for a loan of 2000 new soles from Epydme Alternativa. She plans to invest the loan in materials and furnishings in order to achieve her goal.

Adela is a very hardworking and enterprising woman. Her greatest wishes are to continue growing as a businesswoman and to give her young daughter the opportunity to study for a superior career which will guarantee her a successful future.
