A loan helped a member to buy merchandise for retail in order to make a profit for his family.

Tiessiri Group's story

Gnama is the man with the hand raised on the picture. He is a 33 year old Malian and the father of 3 children, 2 of whom are in school. He experienced some financial worries as he wanted to grow his business (a food shop), and this is why he turned to the MFI for help. He has had this business for 7 years.

He stocks up at the rural fairs and sells at the same fairs and from home. He has earned between 30,000 and 40,000 FCFA per loan cycle. With the profit from his business, he will be able to meet his family's expenses, such as health, education and clothing. He is delighted to be financed by the Kiva program and hopes that the RMCR will continue to offer credit.
