A loan of $250 helped buy bags of rice and corn, and sauce condiments.

Alice's story

Born in 1983 in Comé (Benin), Alice K. is married to Florent DJEGBEVI, and is the mother of two children, both attending school. The family has lived for ten years in the Aïbatin borough of Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. The couple jointly shares family expenses.

Alice has had very little schooling. For the past 11 years, she has been selling food preparations (rice and corn mush, with accompanying sauce) in Aïbatin. As a second activity, she operates a telephone booth, where she sells various telephone recharge cards. She gets her supplies from Cotonou.

She is a regular client of ALIDé, and has already been granted two loans, both of which were fully repaid. She wishes to reinforce her activity and better manage customers’ expectations, which is why she is requesting a third loan.
