A loan of $625 helped buy dairy cows.

María Isabel's story

In the “La Fruga” region of the city of Somotillo, María farms foods such as corn, sesame seed, and sogum. Not only do her crops provide her with food, but also a small income that she uses to help support her family. She has four daughters and three sons of different ages who help her. She also raises livestock, such as cattle, hogs, and poultry which also provides part of their diet. She has had three previous loans which she used to buy cattle. When she began she had no livestock of her own and she has slowly improved her quality of life. She will use the money from this loan to buy three dairy cows that will provide better milk production and a better source of income for her family.
