A loan helped a member to get bulk supplies of second-hand shoes to reinforce her initial capital.

Tuhambane Group's story

Anuarite is a client of the Hekima MFI and leader of the "Tuhambane" banc villageois. She is a widow, 39 years old, and mother of six children, of whom five are in school and one is a baby.

She sells second-hand shoes and started this work in 1999 with start-up funds received from her late husband. Later, she worked with the Hekima programme to support her business, over the course of which she has progressively developed.

With this new loan, she will get bulk supplies of used shoes which will build up her initial capital. The challenge in this work is linked to the lack of customer base and insufficient financing.

She would like her children to go to school and to feed her family. Lastly, she wishes to thank Hekima and partners for their support of non-bankable business owners. The clients prefer to be with their children in the photo.
