A loan helped to purchase more bags of charcoal, fufu, rice, and pepper to sell.

Sundaymah's story

Meet 50-year-old Sundaymah from Liberia. She is living with her partner, along with six children. She deals in a business selling bags of charcoal, fufu, rice, and pepper. She learned how to sell from her mother and her daughter gave her money to start the business. She sells Monday through Saturday. She has had no problem with her business and has had this business for seven years now.

She requested this loan from BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner, to purchase more bags of charcoal, fufu, rice, and pepper to sell to her clients. She likes her business because sales are profitable. In the future, Sundaymah wants to build a house for her children.

She says thanks and gives appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
