Rhealyn's story

Rhealyn is from Concepcion, Iloilo. She is 40 years old and has a 17-year-old daughter. To earn an income, she runs a sari-sari (variety) store selling basic commodities. She has been in this business for seven years. Meanwhile, her husband works as a fisherman to support their family.

She now asks for a loan of PHP 43,000 through Kiva’s field partner CEVI. She will use this loan to buy additional stock for her store like soft drinks, toiletries, noodles, canned goods, food seasonings, candies, snack foods, and other basic commodities. Other part of this loan will be used to buy plywood, nails, paint, and lumber that will be used to repair their fishing boat.
