A loan of $725 helped buying seeds, fertilizer and insecticides.

Nazario's story

Nazario is 31 years old. He is a very straightforward and cheerful man. He lives in his own house and is willing to work very hard with the aim of getting ahead in life.

Still having a lifetime ahead of him, he knows that he has to put all of his effort into earning a steady living through his labor. He works growing potatoes, corn and peas, and when harvest time comes, he takes them to sell in the city's wholesale market. His clients (merchants) are familiar with the quality of his crops, and so they buy them up quickly.

What he likes most about his work is protecting his fields from pests. He has worked in farming for 10 years, and he thinks the hardest part is taking his products to the market where he sells them, since the sacks he carries are very heavy. For the future, he would like to buy more land in order to increase his agricultural production.

This is Nazario's eighth loan with MFP, and he knows that he needs to make his payments punctually if he wants to have access to another loan later. He is a very active participant in his communal bank. With the two thousand Peruvian new soles he is requesting, he will buy potato and pea seeds, as well as fertilizer and insecticides.
