A loan helped to buy more palm oil, rice and pepper to sell.

Annie's story

Annie is 50 years old. She lives with her husband along with five children whose ages are 18 through 25 years. Two of her children are presently in school, and three live at home. Annie went to school until 12th grade.

She runs a business selling palm oil, rice and pepper. She learned how to sell from her mother, and her husband gave her money to start the business. For the past 10 years, she has won a lot of customers to patronize her business. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site. She likes her business because sales are fast.

To maintain her business, she requires a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner. The loan will be used to buy more palm oil, rice and pepper to sell in order to pay back her loan and increase her profits. She wants to send her children to school and build a house for them.

Annie is highly grateful for the financial support rendered.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
