A loan helped to build out a new section of his restaurant.

Tanguy's story

Tanguy is a perfect example of a hardworking and enthusiastic entrepreneur. Originally from Burundi, Tanguy fled to Rwanda due to political instabilities. He had managed successful restaurant businesses back in Burundi but had to start from scratch when he arrived in his new home. In Rwanda, Tanguy first started a catering business, cooking in a shared kitchen and servicing local businesses and events. The first loan he received helped him to open his own restaurant, enabling him to grow from 12 to 22 employees, many of whom are also Burundian refugees.

Tanguy now has an opportunity to expand his restaurant on the current premises by building out another indoor room to accommodate more tables. But to do so, he needs a loan. After successfully repaying his first loan, Tanguy has established a strong credit history and is an excellent borrower. Finally, with the growth in space, Tanguy will need to hire more refugee employees.

This loan is special because:

It helps refugees launch businesses to rebuild their lives.
