Nida's story

Nida B. is 40 years old and lives in the village of Highway Lawis with her husband and their three school-aged children. To earn a living, she makes furniture for local businesses and her neighbors. Nida has been in this business for over 12 years and earns approximately 7,000 PHP a month from her work.

In 2000, she joined PMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her life and ability to engage in business. She has successfully repaid eleven previous loans, and has applied for a new loan to buy supplies she needs to make more furniture. She plans to use the additional revenue generated by her business to improve her family's living conditions.
