A loan of $700 helped to buy ingredients for her meals.

Yolanda's story

Yolanda, 42, is married and has 4 school-aged children. She lives in the town of “Quimbiri," located in the Cuzqueñan forest, where she has her own house.

Previously she worked in agriculture, but as this was not giving her good results she entered into the business of selling food (skewers of beef heart and pastries) in her neighborhood. She has been carrying out this activity for 15 years, and she works tirelessly from 4 in the afternoon until 11 at night. Her children help her during the months of school vacation (January and February). Not satisfied with just this activity, she is proposing to open a store in the near future where she will sell cookies, soft drinks, sweets, etc., with the objective of having a greater number of customers and higher earnings.

This is her 3rd loan with MFP, and she is committed to making her payments at the scheduled times. In addition she is grateful to her communal bank for giving her the opportunity to borrow at reasonable terms at times when she needs the money.

With the money requested she will invest in the installation of a site for her future store, and will also purchase ingredients for her meals.
