Tatiana Cumanda and her family live in the canton of Montecristi, known for its rich pre-colonial culture and for its crafts, which are recognized nationally and internationally.

She is a fighting woman who does whatever is necessary to earn a living for herself. She sells clothing, purses, perfumes, and other articles that are sent to her from relatives she has in the USA. Upon receipt, she goes out selling throughout the city, selling on credit and collecting once a week which permits her to collect while she is selling again.
