A loan of $950 helped a member fabric for the production of bed covers and curtains.

Unidas Para Triunfar 3 Group's story

Glenia is the coordinator of her group, Unidas Para Triunfar (United to Triumph), and her story is representative of her group and of Esperanza's Haitian and Dominican clients generally (many of whom recently emigrated to the DR from Haiti). Her group is located in Santiago, an urban area known for its tobacco industry where running water (none of which is potable) and electricity are unreliable. She makes her home here in a simple structure with her husband and four children.

Glenia is excited to be taking her first loan with Esperanza and believes that Esperanza helps people most in need like her. She plans to use this loan to invest in her business, making bed coverings and sheets, by purchasing fabric. She will use the profits to invest in school supplies for her children and accruing savings. She thanks you all for your support.
