A loan of $2,275 helps a member to buy candies, lollipops and chocolates.

Estudio D Group's story

Maria, the second one in the photo, is the group's leader. She is single, has one son, and lives with her mother.

In the beginning, she worked as a cleaning woman for more than 15 years to support her family. But because of her age she needed to stop, so she decided to work selling sweets and salty snacks. She buys the candies ready made, and she makes the savory snacks with her mother. She has a small stand located by the door of a school in the neighborhood where she lives. She dreams of being able to open a snack bar. With the Banco do Povo loan she bought a Styrofoam cooler, so she is selling soft drinks and juices and making the school children happy. This loan will be used to buy candy, lollipops and chocolates.

The group is grateful to the investors because the loan helps the borrowers improve their businesses and their quality of life.
