A loan of $1,075 helped purchase compost and seeds for planting carrots.

Flor Del Pilar's story

Flor is 24 years old and lives in her parents’ house with her mother and siblings. Since childhood she has been engaged in farming – growing potatoes, corn, quinoa, peas, onions, and carrots based on the seasonal climate for each product. Determining these factors is a constant activity. Flor also is in charge of applying compost to the farmland that she inherited. Her siblings help with the labor, but during the times when they are not able, she hires workers to perform the tasks of planting and harvesting. With the passage of time, she began growing corn and other products that are the most profitable. Flor believes it is important to continue cultivating her land and looking for her sales strategies to generate more income.

This is her sixth loan with MFP. She is recommitted to being responsible with her payments since she considers the loans to be useful in helping progress her business. With the loan she requested, Flor will invest in the purchase of compost and seeds for planting carrots.
