A loan of $2,075 helped a member purchase fruits & vegetables.

Tembiapora Group's story

In the city of Paraguarí, a group of women entrepreneurs gathered together with the idea to access a loan by forming a committee. At this meeting, they clarified all the details about the program and willingly agreed to work because they wanted to seize the opportunity to receive training that would help them improve their businesses. In addition, they could increase their operating capital so that they could earn more income.

The committee is named “Tembiaporä”, which is now in its eighth loan cycle with an excellent rating. Within this group are 16 determined women who try every possible way to improve the living standards of their families. All of the members are enterprising women who will invest their loans in their respective businesses.

Sra. Mariza is a member who buys fruits and vegetables (apples, oranges, pineapples, onions, tomatoes, and peppers) on credit and then sells them. She also prepares fruit salads and chilled natural juices to sell to people who pass by her vending post. Mariza is pleased with what she has achieved because it has been a great help in providing food for her children. She is thankful for the loans that have been provided since they have helped her in her quest to succeed.
