Caminando Juntos Group
In this Group: Sabina, Maylene Evelyn, Ruth Enriqueta, Beatriz , Sara Isabel , Geovana, Leonidas Hermelinda, Josue, Rosa Emilia, Belinda Edith, Emilia Rosa
Sabina is the representative of the group Caminando Juntos ("Walking Together"). The group members chose her as representative because she is someone who inspires confidence in addition to being punctual and responsible. Sabina works selling food from her home but it does not proviD. sufficient income, so she opened a bodega where she works with her six children. She is a fundamental part of her family as she is in the group.

Evelyn is the group's treasurer. She develops, creates, and sells the drawings used in homework at local schools in the Huaycan zone. They are done in different types of material, such as plastic foam and cardboard among others. There is high demand for her work in April and May, since it is the beginning of the school year. Evelyn will invest her loan in buying more materials for her work.

Through a lot of effort, Sara was able to get sewing and mending machines for her dressmaking shop. By doing services for third parties, she is able to support her family. Her three children are her motivation for getting ahead. Her current partner helps her with household costs as she is a widow
from her first engagement. Sara's goal is to be able to proviD. work for her companions in her shop.

The Huaycan area's community piggy bank is happy with its loans and hopes to continue working with Kiva and Edaprospo.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
