A loan of $350 helped purchase embroidery thread.

María's story

María is 34, married, and living with her husband and their three children in the home of her in-laws. Previously she worked in the home, but her husband's wage as a locksmith did not provide enough to support the family. This is why she helped a neighbor to embroider, and over time and with the help of her husband, now she creates her own embroideries. This work has been going well for her, over the last 5 years, with two persons helping with the embroidery, paying them a percentage for their work. María is happy with what she does, embroidering polo shirts, which keeps her very busy threading and sewing. Now, with the abilities she has acquired in these years, she can rapidly create these embroideries, giving her an advantage in her earnings. In the future, she and her husband hope to install a locksmith shop, becoming independent businesspersons, hoping to provide greater advantages to their children. This is her first loan through MFP; she commits herself to punctual payments, since she hopes to have additional credit in the future. With the loan she is requesting, she wants to buy various colors of thread, so she can complete her current embroidery projects in a timely manner.
