A loan helped to purchase more drinks, donuts, palm oil, washing soap, Clorox, bleach and cold water to sell.

Miatta's story

Meet 32-year- old Miatta from Liberia!

She lives with her partner and her 4 children. All of her children are schooling and live at home.

Miatta runs a business selling drinks, donuts, palm oil, washing soap, Clorox, bleach, and cold water. She works Monday through Saturday. She learned how to sell from her mother. She has had this business for several years now and has no problems with her sales. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site. She likes her business because it makes her an independent woman.

She requested this loan from Brac Liberia, a Kiva Field Partner to purchase more drinks, donuts, palm oil, washing soap, Clorox, bleach and cold water to sell and increase her business.

In the future, she wants to build a house.

Miatta says thanks and gives appreciation to RAC Liberia and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
