A loan of $475 helped purchase of construction materials (cement, stone, sand and other materials).

Tiago Rome's story

Tiago Rame J. was born in Tete Province in central Mozambique. He is 53 years old, married, and father to 3 children, ages 10, 2 and 1. The eldest child goes to school. Tiago only finished fifth grade; he did not continue with school because he was drafted for military service. He lives in his own house with his family and does not support anyone else.

He left Tete for Boane to complete his military service. After demobilization, he continued living in Boane District and remains there today. He receives a pension from the Ministry of Defense. He has no employees and receives 4,722 meticais per month. He uses this money for household expenses and saves some in his bank account.

Tiago has never had loans with other banks. He learned about Hluvuku through a friend who is also a customer of this institution. This is his first loan. He is asking for 15,000 meticais to buy construction materials (cement, stone, sand and other materials) in order to build his house.

He promises to pay off this loan promptly so he can take out more loans. In the future, he would like to ask for more loans to continue construction on his home.
