A loan helped a member to buy ingredients such as cassava, maize, rice, cooking oil, etc.

Nyame Akwan Group's story

Catherine was born in the locality of Kasoa. Currently she lives with her husband and two children, who are schooling. She has been working as a food vendor for four years. Her income mainly comes from locally prepared food such as banku with okro stew, rice, stew, and ondormie noodles. Although lots of difficulties lie ahead, she still tries to work hard to help her husband cover all family expenses.

This loan cycle will be used to buy enough ingredients such as cassava, maize, rice, cooking oil, etc. for the production of local dishes to sell. With both financial and non-financial support from ID Ghana, she hopes she will be able to earn a high profit, which she would use to reinvest in food vending to develop her business.
