A loan of $1,800 helps to pay for her medical clinic expenses to keep her health under control and lead a normal life.

Eda's story

Eda is an elderly woman from south Albania. She is asking for the fifth time for Kiva lenders' financial support as she has to pay for her medical clinic expenses.

Eda is a mother of two, currently living with her husband, her son, her daughter-in-law and her granddaughter. She has worked at the same restaurant for more than 10 years, whereas her husband cannot work due to his medical condition. Eda doesn't want to bother her son with her expenses as he has his own financial problems.

She hopes to find Kiva lenders' understanding one more time on this matter.

Korca, their city, is known for the serenade, dating back to 1930, the complementary performance of men’s vocal and kithara instruments walking and performing on the cobblestone streets at night or standing under the windows of their ladies. Nowadays, these performances are played live in restaurants. Eda works in one of them.

This loan is special because:

It supports women in a country where financing options are scarce.
