A loan helped to buy more drinks and bags of charcoal to sell.

Rebecca's story

Greetings from Liberia. This is 46 year old Rebecca, a married mother with 4 children; ages between 9 and 19 years. All of her children are schooling and live at home. Rebecca deals in a business where she sells drinks and bags of charcoal. She learned how to sell from her sister and started to sell with some funds from her husband. She has had this business for 25 years now. She uses a taxi to transport supplies to her business site. To continue her sales, she applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia and Kiva Field Partner to buy more drinks and bags of charcoal to sell to her good clients. She likes her business because sales are fast, and she is proud of her business because it provides for her needs. In the future, Rebecca wants to become a big business woman. She says thanks to all lenders around the world.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
