A loan helped to buy a solar light system in order to improve her family's living conditions.

Merlin's story

In spite of being very young, Merlin, age 23, has struggled to get ahead through her own effort. She lives in a community in Yoro where she and her family have worked growing basic grains. Also, she has a stable job with which she contributes to her family. She lives with her parents and siblings. They also help with the household expenses.

Merlin aspires to be able to have a better quality of life. This has been a bit difficult because her community lacks electrical services. This impedes the household chores at night because they need to use candles or kerosene lamps for light.

It is for this reason that Merlin is requesting a loan from Soluz Honduras in order to get a solar light system that will allow her to enjoy the benefits of solar energy and improve her family's living conditions.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Ginny Kalish.

This loan is special because:

It will illuminate the night with electric light systems.
