Dalila De Jesus
Mrs. Dalila is 53 years old. She has been a professor for the past fifteen years and her husband also. She has two children who are 20 and 24 years old. One works and the other is a student. She began teaching as soon as she finished her studies. The problem that she has now is that they have decreased the number of class hours she gives so she makes less. She and her husband together built the entire cement house but they still need to stucco the walls, paint and put in ceramic tiles. This is why she opted for financing, in order to advance more quickly because she had been improving her home little by little. Her plans are to be able to retire and start an Avon cosmetics business with display cases. She is happy because this will make the improvement possible in a short time.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
