A loan of $250 helped to buy zinc to replace the roof on her house.

Karla Jesennia's story

Karla is thirty-five and lives in the Memorial Sandino neighborhood. Her husband is a taxi driver, and for a number of years she has been working in domestic service. It's a very tiring job, but she has to work to support her family, including two beautiful daughters who are still in school. Being a parent carries a lot of responsibility, so they both work to be able to keep up with expenses, as well as make improvements to their small house, which is made of wood and even has a dirt floor. The loan will allow them to replace the zinc that's in ill repair and to put in stone. Little by little they're making the house pretty and secure. Their plan is to be able to change jobs to improve their income.
