A loan helped to repair her fishing boat.

Makelesi's story

Seafood products are some of the most popular among Fijians, perfect for any occasion or just a normal Sunday lunch. Makelesi, 52, has provided mostly for the people of Natunuku Village with fresh catches of fish, crabs and seaweed since 2017, and is now looking to help improve her daily catch.

She seeks a loan to repair her fishing boat. Without this, she won't be able to maximize her catch, thus another added cost for her.

She is adamant about the future of her business and looks forward to many greater returns.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
